The number of Israeli families living in poverty remains shockingly high. A 2007 study found that 420,000 families in Israel live below the poverty line. In Jerusalem, 33 percent of families struggle to afford basic necessities that we take for granted. And while their needs are not shrinking, the government’s budget is, due to Israel’s need to increase defense spending to protect her people against terrorism and prepare for the possibility of war.
Guardians of Israel responds to these critical needs by providing families with food, clothing, medicine and heating.
